IS AN EVALUATION NECESSARY?

Yes, within the past 6 months. Without a recent evaluation, we cannot obtain all of the necessary information needed in order to create an appropriate treatment plan.

A comprehensive speech and language assessment will include a combination of clinical observations, standardized assessment, and discussion of the child's background information. This will help us understand the severity of a deficit, age-equivalence, and to make appropriate recommendations and referrals.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

We do not  participate with insurance plans and are out of network providers . However, upon request, a superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance. We do not work with insurance and cannot guarantee any coverage. It is recommended to submit a referral for services to your insurance provider.

WHAT IS AN AUGMENTATIVE AND ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION EVALUATION?

Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) provides individual's either an alternative and/or supplemental way to communicate when spoken language alone is not meeting their communication needs. We provide AAC evaluations to help individuals obtain a speech generating device (SGD) that best fits their unique needs. This process includes an AAC trial(s), device programming, training to your speech provider, family members, and any other integral members of the team, and a thorough report describing our recommendations.

Individuals who may benefit from a SGD may range from a preschoolers who is frustrated due to communication breakdowns, an individual who is having difficulty communicating due to oral motor weakness, and/or individuals who are minimally or nonverbal. We help children and adults with wide ranging diagnoses (including but not limited to aphasia, autism, dysarthria) to obtain devices and learn how to use those devices to achieve their goals .
